Zeena Morris is a mixed-media artist from Buckinghamshire who mostly focuses on various textile techniques. 

 

In 2021, Zeena graduated from Bucks New University with a degree in textiles. 

She struggled throughout the pandemic to complete her degree, especially as she was unable to utilise the studio for two of her three years there. She had no alternative but to work from home,she picked up new skills by experimenting with yarns, and tufting eventually became her preferred medium.

What Zeena's work is about?

Morris draws inspiration from the environment around her, starting with coral reefs. 

Zeena, who is half Indian and half Jamaican, realised she wanted to use her art to educate others about environmental issues after witnessing the destruction of the coral reefs while visiting her family in a Jamaica. 

 

As well as raising awareness through her artwork, Morris tries to utilise sustainable materials whenever possible and incorporates movement and texture into her creations by using traditional stitching techniques.
